Gilda Gubiotti was born in Palermo and she lives and works in this city. As a budding artist she worked under the guidance of the established artists Michele Dixit Domino and Albano Rossi. In 1978, during a short stay in Milan, where she met masters such as Umberto Lilloni and Michele Cascella, she became fascinated by their lyrical representation of Nature. Following this encounter Gubiotti started painting the woods, gardens and Sicilian landscapes. In her penetrating images of the lush and verdant or the bleak and sun-scorched landscapes, she has captured the essence of their nature presenting their beauty in her work. In recent times she is focusing her research on the representation of our planet, the whole Earth as seen from space or closer up as seen from a plane.Since 1999, Gilda Gubiotti's works have been exhibited in many prestigious art events both nationally and internationally. In 2000 she took part at the Art Expo in New York; in 2003 at the International Salon Louvre Pyramid in Paris, and in 2004 at the II International Salon in Paris and in the International Salon Cantieri Culturali in Palermo, and the International Salon City Gallery in Enna. When I look to a piece of art that I like I would contemplate it for hours. I would like that someone would feel the same emotion looking at my paintings
